Weekly Tuesday Night Potluck Rides
- We ride every Tuesday evening from mid April until Mid October, depending on weather
- These are called Potluck Rides
- We leave from the staging area in the parking lot between Zellers and Canadian Tire
at Upper Middle Road and Appleby Line
- We leave PROMPTLY at 7:00 PM after a brief talk, usually from our 1st Officer
- Rides last about 2 hours, depending on the Road Captain and his/her route
- Rides may start earlier and last about 1 hour when on standard time due to darkness
- Changes in ride times are posted on the Chapter 57 Delphi Forum
- Depending on the number of riders, there can be multiple groups
- We try to limit groups to 8-12 riders
- Potluck Rides usually include a stop near the halfway point to change glasses or clothing
- Coffee shops are the most common for a pit stop and coffee
- Each group has a Road Captain at the front and Tail Gunner at the rear
- No one is left stranded because the Tail Gunner will always stop to help a stopped rider
- If a rider leaves the group early before it is finished, the Tail Gunner should be notified
- If a group gets split up, the last rider in the 1st group is called a "Drop Back Rider"
- The "Drop Back Rider" marks the intersection where the 1st group turned
- If there is no turn and the group is split, there is no "Drop Back Rider"
- The 2nd group assumes the 1st group has not turned if there is no "Drop Back Rider"
- Tuesday nite rides are officially over when we stop at a restaurant for a social
